Trinity Organic Body Butters Collection

Trinity Body Butter offers exceptional moisture with three nourishing butters: Kokum (pronounced "coke-um"), Murumuru, Shea, and Cocao. The benefits of these butters combine to provide three times the benefits of a single butter. The option to choose from peppermint, lavender, or patchouli essential oils, or opt for a non-scented body butter. Selection depends on skin sensitivity, climate, ingredients, and skin type. The great news is that these butters work together to create a synergy that makes your skin glow with a nourishing, hydrating formula designed to prevent dryness and strengthen the skin barrier, tailored to your skin's needs.

Whipped body butter has gained popularity because it features a lighter, fluffier, and airier texture than traditional, denser body butters. It shares similar natural ingredients, but some commercial varieties include water as an active component, which isn't ideal for dry skin. Typically, whipped body butter provides natural hydration and moisturization; however, many are made by incorporating air into the mixture, which causes them to expand and often double in size. This trapped air can reduce shelf life and accelerate spoilage through oxidation. Heat exposure during processing can diminish its lightness, making the texture flat and uneven, so preservatives are added to maintain stability. It's also worth noting that whipped body butter can be comedogenic (pore-clogging) and may not be suitable for all skin types.

Traditional body butter is thicker, providing deep, long-lasting hydration that protects the skin barrier. Ideal for dry, sensitive, or cracked skin, it is more solid and sturdy compared to whipped versions, which are lighter and less stable. Its density creates a protective layer on the skin, helping to lock in moisture and reduce water loss. Although it may take longer to absorb because of its thickness, less product is needed for effective hydration. Plus, butters are rich in vitamin E, a natural preservative that helps extend their shelf life.

At Soaps Creams & Things, we choose a much thicker butter because our main goal is to keep your skin soft, hydrated, and glowing with natural ingredients. We avoid alcohols like isopropyl myristate (IPM), which is used in pet flea and head lice treatments, as well as common solvents and penetrating enhancers found in many cosmetics today. These enhancers (PEGs) can create “holes” in our skin, allowing other contaminants to enter. Our products are labeled “clean” and contain no synthetic dyes or chemicals. All butters are responsibly sourced from vendors committed to ethical labor and environmental sustainability.

Ingredients

Organic Kokum, Shea (yellow & white), Murumuru, Cacao butters, Almond and Grape seed oils, alkanet, bees wax, rose, essential oils

Key Benefits of Ingredients:

  • Organic Kokum butter (Garcinia Indica) is native to India. It is derived from the seed pod of the kokum tree and is considered an exotic butter popular for medicinal uses, with its own market section in India. In skincare, kokum is a highly stable, non-comedogenic emollient rich in stearic-oleic-stearic (SOS) triglycerides, vitamin E, and antioxidants. Due to its high melting point, it stays solid at room temperature but melts upon contact with skin.
  • Organic Shea Butter (Vitellaria Paradoxa) is a nourishing ingredient valued for its deep hydration, anti-inflammatory properties, and hypoallergenic qualities, imported from Africa. It's perfect for skincare because it won't clog pores, thanks to its non-comedogenic nature. Rich in vitamins A and E, which act as natural preservatives, shea butter helps extend shelf life. Its moisturizing effects boost collagen production, diminish fine lines, and aid in skin healing and conditioning, particularly for eczema and psoriasis. Suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and acne-prone skin, it offers gentle, non-comedogenic care.
  • Organic Murumuru (Astrocaryum murumuru) is a palm tree native to the Brazilian Amazon rainforest and is related to the Arecaceae (palm) family. The murumuru palm produces an edible fruit that serves as a food source for local communities. Murumuru butter is derived from the seeds of the fruit, yielding a nutrient-rich fat valued for its deeply moisturizing, anti-inflammatory properties, and high lauric acid content. Murumuru can restore skin elasticity and lock in moisture without clogging pores. Compared to shea, cacao, or kokum butter, murumuru butter is lighter, absorbs faster, and is non-greasy on contact with skin.
  • Organic cacao butter protects the skin against aging and inflammation due to its high antioxidant content, boosting hydration and enhancing circulation from the small amounts of caffeine that increase blood flow to the skin's surface. This helps smooth the skin and provides a youthful, “lit-from-within” glow. Rich in anti-aging properties, cacao butter offers protection from UV damage. It provides deep hydration to moisturize the skin while its anti-inflammatory qualities help reduce irritation, acne, and redness.
  • Almond and grapeseed oil are super oils rich in nutrients and vitamins A-K, providing protection against the sun’s harmful UVA & B rays, retaining glow, tightening skin, treating acne, and delivering moisturizing benefits to skin.
  • Alkanet root (Alkanna tinctoria), native to the Mediterranean, is a natural deep red dye primarily used in skincare, with origins in traditional medicine for its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. It contains shikonin, a bioactive component known for its potent anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, and wound-healing effects. Rich in antioxidants, it helps neutralize free radicals, shielding the skin from environmental damage and premature aging. Ideal for sensitive skin.
  • Beeswax is a natural, nutrient-rich, and non-comedogenic ingredient that deeply moisturizes, softens, and protects the skin by forming a breathable, waterproof, hypoallergenic barrier that seals in moisture without clogging pores. It is commonly used to soothe skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema, lock in moisture for dry skin, and heal irritated skin. High in vitamin A, beeswax helps heal and reduce inflammation.
